Our Practice Areas

Every day someone in Missouri suffers serious and disabling injuries caused by the negligence of another party. Walter Bley and Mark Evans help accident victims and their families by providing experienced, skilled and no-nonsense legal representation, as well as compassion and understanding of their situation and the challenges they face.

If you or a family member suffered an injury or was killed because of another party’s carelessness or mistakes, you should not have to go through an injury, physical pain, emotional stress and the financial burdens caused by their negligence alone. Bley & Evans will fight for you to make sure you and your family get the compensation you deserve.

Vehicle Accidents

We represent clients who have been injured in vehicle accidents. These collisions involve everything from the biggest commercial vehicles and freight trains to passenger cars, light trucks and bicycles. We’ve handled accidents on major highways and local streets and in parking lots. Though each case is different, what remains the same is our commitment to do the right thing for our clients. The types of cases we handle include:

  • Car AccidentCar accidents: Automobiles collide with each other every day. These accidents happen on highways at high speeds, in local intersections where stop signs or red lights are ignored, and in parking lots where distracted drivers don’t pay attention to what’s going on. Sometimes the other vehicle flees the scene, and often insurance companies give accident victims nothing but a hard time and double talk.
  • Large truck accidents: Commercial truck accidents often result in deaths and serious, lifelong disabilities. A semi-truck could weigh up to 80,000 pounds and deliver enough energy into another vehicle to flatten it. These cases can be very complex and involve several possible parties, each with their own insurance company, state and federal laws.
  • Pedestrian accidents: Pedestrians are often ignored by drivers and endangered by their negligence. A pedestrian may be walking along a road, on a sidewalk, in a parking lot or crossing a street. Distracted, impaired or speeding drivers are often the cause of a pedestrian’s safely minding his own business one moment and waking up in a hospital emergency department the next.

Personal Injury

These cases cover a wide range of preventable accidents that cause injuries and deaths. They can happen in a retail store or other public space. They can cause traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries and paralysis.

  • Defective medical products: You trust your doctor and hospital to provide you with appropriate medical care. Sometimes that requires surgery and medical devices like knee or hip replacements. But these products may be defective and make your situation far worse than it was before your surgery, resulting in chronic pain, life-threatening complications and additional surgeries.
  • Wrongful death: If a family member was killed due to the negligence or intentional act of another party, you may be able to file a legal action to seek compensation for the financial loss and emotional harm done. Though you can’t get your loved one back, we try to help you recover and hold those responsible accountable.

Product Liability

Product liability is a type of lawsuit that involves property damage, injuries or death caused in some way by a defective product. The product may not be safe for its intended purposes, or it may have been sold for a purpose for which it was not designed or made. It could be that because of its faulty design or manufacture, it’s dangerous to use, something went wrong and someone was hurt or killed. Directions, instructions or warnings may have been insufficient.

Product liability can include toys that are a choking hazard for small children, vehicle parts or components that break down under normal use and cause an accident, or machine tools that injure workers because they haven’t been warned of the dangers of their use.

Insurance Claims

Because of property damage, an injury, or death of a family member, you may need to file a claim with your insurance carrier or with a company insuring another party. Insurance policies cover harm done under covered circumstances and hazards. Often insurance companies delay paying, pay claims only partially or deny claims entirely for no justified reason.

They will try to hide behind policy language or state law. We work with clients to get their claims paid and force insurance companies to live up to their obligations.

No matter your situation or type of case you need help with in Missouri, Bley & Evans is here to do all that’s possible to ensure you get just, reasonable and fair compensation. We will be honest with you about your case and give you a realistic assessment of your legal situation. We will tell you what to expect from the legal process. We will treat you with respect and not pressure you to make decisions you are not comfortable making. If you have any questions about the cases we handle or feel you need legal representation, call us at 844-443-8385 today.
